In this article, we’re going to go through why having a breathalyzer at home can literally save your life and many others’ lives. Every day, there are vehicular accidents that are caused by being too drunk from having too many alcoholic drinks. Not only that, but there are plenty of other domestic problems caused by drinking too much, as well. Having a breathalyzer could very well keep you out of jail, prevent a serious injury and a trip to the hospital, and save plenty of others’ lives in the process.

Research shows that domestic abuse caused by being drunk is at an all time high. This is an absolutely amazing statistic and it has got to change. Do you care about your friends and family? I hope so, because if you didn’t, you would keep on getting completely blasted out of your mind and going home to them. Anything and everything can happen at times like this. Studies also show that if people know they are intoxicated, they will still decide to drive anyway, despite the horrific problems that can and probably will occur.

Owning a breathalyzer can prevent this from happening. How? Simple: You will know how intoxicated you are, and you will be able to sober yourself up much easier, and you also will be able to go out and about without being a drunken moron and endangering others in the process. A personal favorite breathalyzer of mine is the alcohawk breathalyzer. It’s very affordable (recent price is less than $100 with free shipping and handling), VERY convenient, and very tiny and easy to conceal, being as it is a very tiny device and not heavy. It’s extremely simple to use, for those who don’t think they can figure out how to use it.

So, this should be your new gameplan: Step one: Call a designated driver. If you can’t find one, go in a cab or stay the night where you’re going. Step two: Let someone know where you’re going and how long you think you’ll probably be gone. Step three: Take your personal breathalyzer with you. It could be alcohawk, or it could be some other brand that may get the job done). Step four: Go out and have a good time!

It really can be that simple to drinking safely. So why don’t most people utilize breathalyzers when they go have a good time and drink? Well, there are a few simple reasons: first being that they don’t think they need it. They’re super human and can hold their alcohol like a pro, or so they think. Second being that they don’t want to have to have that kind of responsibility. When you have the steps it takes to be safe, and you don’t follow them anyway, it’s not easy to have to face the consequences. This article was how a breathalyzer can save your life, I hope you enjoyed it!

The popularity of drug testing is rising all over the world. In a survey, the management of 81% organizations admitted to subjecting their employees to workplace drug testing in order to check their sobriety. This is undertaken with the aim of identifying drug users so that appropriate steps in the interest of the organization. Hence, for a decision to be taken in favor of an employee, it is necessary that he passes the test. There are mainly four types of drug tests that are commonly performed.

Urine testing is the most commonly used method for checking any toxins at human body. Under this type of testing, a person is required to provide a urine specimen in a cup or bottle. This specimen is checked using a panel kit. Alternatively, it may be sent to a laboratory to be verified under a gas analyzer. Test Kits provide instant results while the process of getting the specimen tested through a laboratory requires more time.

Hair Follicle test is another type of checking any substances at the body. It usually provides correct and reliable results and reveals whether a person has consumed drugs in the last few months. In order to avoid this type of testing, some people shave off their heads because at least half inch of hair is required. However, it should be remembered that the employer might even use pubic, underarm, leg or arm hair for testing if the employee does not have adequate hair on his head.

Blood tests prove to be more costly as compared to other one, and used when an employee is interviewing for a high level position. Insurance companies also use blood tests for their prospective clients.

A saliva test is not very commonly used, due to its limitation. Saliva contains drugs consumed within the last few days. Usually, law enforcement agencies as well as insurance companies make use of this method.

How to pass a drug test? The answer to this is simple – make sure that you have no drugs in your body at the time the test is undertaken. You need not worry about this aspect if you do not use drugs at all. If you do use drugs and wish to pass a drug test, you should remember that toxins do stay in the system for a certain period of time. Hence you need to ascertain that there are no toxins in your system during the test. This is quite a simple task. For this, you require knowledge about the time duration that different toxins take to get washed out from the body. Our drug use timetable would provide you with valuable insight into this matter. You can get to know when your body would be completely free of toxins, for which you would be required to answer only a few simple questions.

Screenings for cancer may be dangerous or could cause a serious sickness and in the end could not determine anything. Would you believe that the American Cancer Society now agrees that screening for serious cancer is not all that accurate.

I am sure that most everyone will agree that early detection of serious cancer is a good thing. But what happens in many cases is that a questionable spot is detected with the imaging or scanning equipment. The result of this discovery changes the patients whole life.

The suspicious spot in many cases is inconsequential or benign. The problem is that the medical establishment doesn’t want to take a chance and the only way they currently have to treat cancer is to use chemotherapy or radiation. Both severely debilitates the patient. Maybe you have heard, but let me say it again. Most everyone has some cancer in their body at some point in time. You will never know it is there, its to small to detect and they never affect your life.

Your immune system takes care of them. When screening detects a cancer it usually is well advanced and treatment has to be aggressive. Maybe chemo or other similar aggressive treatments are necessary to save a life. But if this route is necessary, it must be followed up with an aggressive protocol of a high quality, organic supplement complex. Otherwise all the suffering with chemo, etc. will be a wast of time and suffering.

The cancer will return if no followup prevention is planned after chemotherapy. It has been proved that mammograms make no sense. Very few lives are saved. Even the respected Journal of Clinical Oncology has said the increase in use of MRI’s to detect problems (screening) has it problems and repercussions. The journal also follows this statement with the fact that the increase in the number of a single or double mastectomy in many cases should not be done. Again it is screening that is causing the increase.

If we consider prostatectomy (removal of the the male prostate), regardless of whether radiation is used or not, the men suffer a lot. The after effects are… -impotency -incontinent (diapers for the rest of the patients life) -and if no followup treatment is planned, the cancer will return in most cases Still many doctors use the PSA test as an indication of cancer.

The PSA test is not a cancer test. Yet probably a million men have undergone the removal of the prostate. Even the biospy procedure of the prostate may aggravate a cancer that if left alone and treated with organic, raw supplements will never be a problem. There are other methods that may indicate the possibility of a cancer that are mostly non-invasive.

Having observed all of the above and the reports in respected medical journals, screening is still growing at an alarming rate. It has been observed that with all the screenings, the cancer rates have not decreased, in fact they have increased. So the question is: “Is screening effective?” The screening is promoted by the American Cancer Society (ACS). It has not been shown, in the last 30 years, that the anti-cancer drug research is still basically “not working”. All the research costs billions of dollars and so far there is no result.

Recently, the American Cancer Society announced around January 2010 that the screenings with regard the detection of cancer have not been fruitful. The ACS has also made it publicly that there is really risk of over-treating because of the detection of the small cancers, that in many cases the deadly cancers are missed.

It seems to me that ACS seems to be reversing their position on what they have been telling the public for many years about cancer and their position on screening for cancer. Most of the screening are for prostate and breast cancer. The mammogram test for women over 40 has just been modified to over 50 and instead of every year, not is every two years.

It appears that ACS is bowing to the pressure of the ineffectiveness of the screening process. The medical research and the medical establish in general have various stages of “the truth” and most of it is at the expense of the patient. When an attach is made to any aspect of medical treatment, and this includes screening, the first response is – nope, not accepted, we (medical establishment) are correct, and you are wrong, i.e. denial.

After some of the proof comes to light that they are wrong, the next level is well maybe we can look into it, i.e. skepticism. Then comes more proof that they are totally wrong like with the admittance by ACS that maybe screening is not effective after all, this is called “acceptance” with caution and comments, “we will look into it further. This could be called acceptance with hesitation.

This only happens when the truth is finally exposed. What follows over time is total acceptance which is never publicly announced. So the establishment never really admits that their original methods were never wrong hence they never “lose face”.

When I was a psychology major in college I had big dreams of getting my Masters and PhD and eventually opening my own practice. It is now three kids later and I am ready to begin studying to get an Online Psychology Masters Degree. Somehow that goal got away from me but now with colleges and universities offering online degree programs I am back in the game and ready to go after my Psychology Masters. Before I did not have the option of earning a degree online but things have changed.

I have found that there are numerous distance learning Psychology Masters Degree programs available and I want to be certain that the one I choose is accredited and well respected. People used to think going to school online was just a waste of time and that no one would ever get hired with an online degree but now many well respected colleges and universities are offering an online degree option because they realize the benefit of having students study from home. Distance learning is really making a name for itself.

If I go to school full time I can earn my Masters Degree in Psychology in approximately 2 years. If I only work on it part time it will take me a bit longer. There will most likely be some portion of the course work that will require me to work in a clinical setting. Because I am aware of the fact that online degrees are available I am quite sure that there is a way to work that out when the time comes. So far the research that I have done on schools with online programs impresses me. There are even ivy league schools with distance learning programs.

Part of deciding which school to attend for my Online Psychology Masters Degree also has a lot to do with the program itself. I want my program to focus on Child Psychology so the course selection will have to offer numerous classes with that concentration. It is important for anyone considering an online program to be sure that the course selection meets their needs and goals. The education itself is equally as important as the degree. This is especially true when it comes to the field of Psychology. My Master’s is going to give me all of the knowledge that I need to move on to my Doctorate,

Louis Zhang, Accrmasterspsychology dot com

Drug abuse and crime in Florida are closely related. The crime rate in Florida or in the entire country could be significantly reduced if repeat offenders were required to submit to addiction treatment. It is widely accepted that the use of drugs in penal institutes is as prevalent as the use on the streets. If an offender enters a penitentiary with a drug abuse problem they can continue to nurse their problem while incarcerated. In the rare case that someone enters prison without a drug problem they can become addicted during their sentence.

The Office of Drug Control estimates that 150-200 metric tons of cocaine and three metric tons of heroin arrive in Florida every year. To date, there is no reliable estimate of the amounts of marijuana or designer drugs being transported through our State, but law enforcement testimony leads us to believe that the volume is very high. Based on the testimony we received, we believe billions of narco-dollars are laundered through Florida’s commercial and banking establishments every year.

When an offender re-enters the streets of Florida with a drug addiction and no immediate means to support themselves or their habit they become recidivists. Returning to crime is the option taken most often by these individuals. The criminal justice system is riddled with this recurring problem which negatively impacts Florida residents.

Florida residents stuck in this revolving door of the Criminal Justice System need relief in the way of both job training and addiction treatment. First the offender has to receive treatment in a drug rehab center. Treatment involvement has to be part of the parole to insure participation. After the parolee is able to sustain a period of abstinence they need job training and possible employment placement.

The research backs-up the claim that drug rehab works. There is a definite decrease in criminal activity and increase in social functioning when the offender receives duel intervention in addiction and employment. Florida streets become a safer place to live.

There are many reasons why U.S. organizations, companies and schools test for alcohol abuse. According to National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), nearly 51.6 percent of Americans aged 12 or older reported being current drinkers of alcohol in the 2008. Because of the rampant alcoholism and its negative effects, many companies, institutions, and organizations are implementing random alcohol testing and screening. As a result, there is an increasing demand for more effective testing and detection methods. The common methods of alcohol testing are breathalyzer test and saliva test, in which specimen samples are collected quickly and easily unlike in urine and blood tests.

Breathalyzer test:
Breath analysis is the common method of testing for blood-alcohol content by law enforcement department. Breathalyzer device is used to estimate the blood alcohol content (BAC) in a breath sample. It is also commonly used at homes, schools, workplaces apart from law enforcement. Employers use breathalyzers to check the blood alcohol level in employees to ensure workplace is safe. If one wants to do an alcohol abuse test in a zippy, breathalyzer is the suitable option.

Saliva test:
Saliva test detects the presence of alcohol in the saliva sample, which is relatively a good approximation of blood alcohol content. The concentration of alcohol in saliva is very likely to be similar to the blood alcohol content that is present in the blood. As a result, saliva tests are preferred to blood alcohol tests as it avoids the hassle related to blood sample collection and also comparatively cheaper.

Saliva testing method is becoming popular among the organizations and companies, as they can have the sample for further evidence unlike in breathalyzer. Saliva samples can be acquired under direct supervision with a minimal risk of tampering in almost any environment.

Today, alcohol testing plays a major role in eliminating or significantly reducing student alcohol abuse, preventing alcohol-related highway fatalities, tracking alcohol abusers at workplace to provide safe work environment. The information will help you to find the ideal method of alcohol testing if you need to test easily and effortlessly.

As we move from the lazy days of summer into faster-paced autumn – coming back to our “regular lives” after vacation, the longer days of summer, and for many of us, shorter summer work hours – we find ourselves in a perfect space for coming back to ourselves.

This transition period between the seasons – almost like a pause or a feeling of “waiting” – is the time for evaluation. It’s time to take stock of what is, what has been, what’s working and what you want to carry forward.

If this sounds daunting, try looking at it from a seasonal perspective. Come winter, our energies will be directed inward, toward comfort and home. This is a time when we’ll have the space to open up and be creative, moving forward with projects and manifesting ideas. So it makes sense that fall would be the time to take stock, figure out what our next directions are, what we want to be creating for ourselves during the winter months.

Why take stock?

It’s important to remember that our health is impacted by every facet of our life, even those that may seem unrelated. Any areas that are neglected, or are out of integrity with who we are (or are just plain not enough fun!) tend to create stresses, which in turn set off a chain reaction in our endocrine system, leading to hormonal imbalances and a host of other health issues.

Building your “life pie”

One of our favorite tools for refocusing on our selves and what’s important in our lives is the Wheel of Life. You’ll be making a “pie” that represents different areas of your life – it only takes about 10 minutes, and can be remarkably illuminating!

For this exercise, you’ll need a blank piece of paper (preferably unlined) and pen or pencil. Feel free to make this exercise even more fun by using colored paper, or colored pens or pencils.

* On your piece of paper, draw a large circle and then divide it into 10 “pieces of pie” by making 10 lines from the center to the outside edge. (If you like, make each line in a different color, for each different category.)

* Next, you’re going to label each line with a different area of your life: home environment, relationships, social life, joy, health, career, creativity, finances, education and spirituality.

* Now comes the fun part: For each of the 10 different categories, make a dot on the line that represents your level of involvement with each area – the center of the circle is zero, and the outside of the circle represents areas of most involvement or satisfaction.

* Once you’ve got a dot for each area, connect the dots and see what your “life pie” looks like!

Your Wheel of Life should give you some good ideas as to which areas of your life need more attention at this time. Keep in mind, this is a process that will last all through the fall – taking the time now to take stock and prepare will set you up for a creative, productive fall and winter!

Cleanse with us!

One of the best ways to re-balance yourself and your body as you transition through the seasons is with a gentle cleanse. Cleansing not only helps your body clear out excess wastes and come back to a place of balance, it also helps clear YOU – removing some of life’s clutter and leaving you with a clearer vision of your direction, helping you to balance your “life pie”.
Many of the cleanses available out there can be very extreme – and therefore hard on the body. We’ve created our own super-supportive whole foods cleanse, done in the comfort of your own home but with the support and guidance of the LSW counselors, as well as a whole community of women – that you’re connected to via our online forums – who are all doing the cleanse at the same time.

We’ll be running our Fall Cleanse throughout the month of October. For more information on this transformational event, just fill out this short web form and we’ll be in touch with more details. Or, call us at 212-581-0001 to register now and reserve your spot!

Need more help figuring out your next steps?

One of our popular and powerful group programs may be for you! Metamorphosis, our eight-week telegroup designed especially for women in their 20s and 30s, begins on Monday, October 1st. Also beginning on October 1st is Emerge, our six-week online program designed for the college-age woman. See below for more information, or contact us today at 212-581-0001 to save your space!

Share your “pie”

How’d this exercise go for you? Did any of your areas surprise you? Which areas did you feel were your strongest? Your weakest? Share your results and ask your questions in the comments section below, and an LSW counselor will respond!

LSW recognizes the importance of indulgence, pleasure, and sensuality for every woman’s menstrual and sexual health. We help you find the right medicinal foods for healing your condition, and we support you to understand, accept, and enjoy your woman’s body and your feminine energy.

Driving when you are drunk is very dangerous. The reason is that alcohol when it gets mixed in with you blood will start to inhibit your ability to think properly. It also inhibits a lot of functions of your brain which can really cloud your judgment. It is precisely for this reason alone that a lot of states do not allow people to drive when they are drunk.

If you are caught driving when you are drunk the penalties are very severe. In most cases your license is suspended as well as you can be in jail for some time. To avoid this it is better to make sure that you are within the legal limits of alcohol drinking.

The legal limit is .08BAC. BAC or the blood alcohol content is a measure to see how much of alcohol is there in your blood. The way it functions is that when you drink alcohol it never gets digested rather it is mixed in with the blood. The body then gets rid of the alcohol gradually via lungs through dissipation or it uses the kidneys to get rid of alcohol. That is why when you breathe there will be alcohol content in your breath.

The home breathalyzer tests are done using the home breathalyzer kit which when used can give a good amount of indication as to how much is the alcohol in your body. The color of the strip will change or if it is digital it will give out the BAC. You can buy a single disposable home breathalyzer test also.

What is substance abuse? How would you define this term? While some people chalk it up to simple illegal drug abuse, other people believe that it is not quite that simple.

If you were to ask an average medical doctor what this form of abuse entailed, they would tell you that it had to do with illegal, and frequent, drug use. However, many people argue that this definition is in no way inclusive. For example, there are plenty of people that use various substances that aren’t drugs at all (inhalants and solvents), while others excessive use alcohol and prescription drugs. So, what is substance abuse, really?

Should you decide to drink caffeinated beverages in excessive amounts, will this be considered abuse? There really isn’t any one way to define this sort of addiction, so rather than define it, let’s just talk about it for a moment. How can you tell if you, or someone you love, have become obsessed with a substance? A person that is driven by the constant need and desire to obtain one particular matter is an addict. Do you wake up every day craving one thing? Will you go to any lengths to get that thing? Are you angry and frustrated when you cannot have that thing? If so, you may be in the midst of a nasty addiction.

What can you do about substance abuse? If you believe that your life is helplessly spinning out of control, seek professional help. Talk to your friends, family, doctor, or psychologist in order to find out how to breathe freely once again. If you really want to answer the original question (what is substance abuse?) you will find that this type of abuse is akin to a monster that takes over your life with no concern for your personal well being.

Those that seek help for their addiction will find the path long and hard, though it is necessary. Contrastingly, those that do nothing about their current behavior will simple fall deeper and deeper into the spinning spiral … sometimes, there is no way out. No matter what the cost may be, help yourself (or another person you know) with your addiction.

What is substance abuse? It is a raging river that will not stop gushing until you cannot take it anymore. No matter how it is defined, this type of abuse will not end until you stop it. Remember, any substance can be abused, so think twice before you reach for that one thing that you cannot live without.
