Home Tester Kits

In the past 50 years home test kits have become more widely available and there are many out there for many different things. Home test kits aren’t just for testing whether you are pregnant either, many people don’t know that they can order home kits to test for STI’s and drugs. There are also health, allergy and home blood tests.

Many of the kits are very simple to use with detailed instructions on how to use the test and interpret the results of the test. The tests don’t take long to take; usually up to 10 minutes maximum for most of them.

Other tester that you can take in the home may require you to send them off to a laboratory for it to be tested and verified by specialised technicians and research teams. Results can then take up to 16 days to be returned. These types of tests are completely confidential and results are usually posted in private and confidential envelopes like any normal bank statement. Most companies also keep your files and details password protected so results and details can’t be passed on to any third parties, everything is completely secure. These types of tests may include paternity tests and DNA tests.

Drug and alcohol kits are another high selling product. Prices for these kits are mainly low and they are very reliable. The results are quick and depending on the test can detect many different types of drugs from heroin to cannabis to multiple drugs for one test!

Alcohol tests are similar to the breathalyzer tests that police officers issue when they believe someone to be intoxicated. Most alcohol tests are measured in blood alcohol concentration after being converted from measuring alcohol on breath samples from the lungs. Blood alcohol concentration is the standard measure that is used to check whether people are over the drinking driving limit.

Alcohol test prices range from around £10 – £50 depending on the type of test. Low price tests use a swab to check alcohol levels in your saliva so you can then estimate your blood alcohol levels. Test like this are mainly used to check whether you are okay to drive after a night out drinking.

More expensive alcohol tests eliminate the need for you to calculate your blood alcohol levels by using alcohol modules that test your breath and then display alcohol levels onto a digital display. These tests can be reused multiple times and only stop working when the batteries run out!

Home tests are excellent for being completely discreet and confidential; no one has to know that you have taken a test apart from yourself. Home test suppliers keep you details secret and don’t pass on your details to any other company. There is no longer the need to feel embarrassed by going to the doctor and booking an appointment to have a test. With the home testing kits you can do the test yourself without feeling uncomfortable.

And don’t forget most tests are 99.9% accurate so you know that you can trust the resulting outcome of the test.
